LET'S TAKE IT OUTSIDE

Nature-based walk and talk psychotherapy

Welcome!  I'm so glad you're here.

In the face of pain, we all have strategies to manage the discomfort, sometimes reacting in ways that feel out of our control — compulsive behaviors, emotionally shutting down, or "snapping."  Many of us can experience a punitive, self-judging voice inside our head and disconnection from our body. These are learned responses that can be unlearned.

The foundational belief underpinning my life's work is our capacity for change.

This is based on my own lived experience, my professional experience working with clients, and the overwhelming conclusion of neuroscience. The nervous system is plastic — capable of reorganizing connections, and even structure and functions. As our brains and bodies changed due to adverse experiences that overwhelmed our ability to cope, so do we change through learning more effective skills for regulation and self-soothing. However you're suffering, I deeply know and believe that change is possible. I offer healing-centered psychotherapy, building on our innate adaptiveness, deepening our lived resilience.

Together, we can practice tools to develop the inner space for holding discomfort, transforming self-criticism, and reinhabiting our beings — opening to presence, joy, and connection.

May all beings be seen, held kindly, and loved. May we all one day surrender to the weight of being healed.
